This listing is for a complete MTC Engineering High Performance Piston Kit. These pistons are manufactured in Cocoa Florida using the highest quality aluminum alloy. Each piston is subjected to a battery of quality control checks to assure uniformity and high quality. Some of the world's fastest motorcycles are equipped with MTC Engineering pistons.
This MTC Engineering high performance piston kit contains the following: (4) 72mm aluminum forged pistons, 10.5:1 compression ratio. (4) Hard chromed wrist pins.(4) Sets of 72mm rings. (with three piece oil ring) (8) Teflon buttons sized for a 72mm bore. (buttons take the place of circlips) (1) Cometic one piece copper head gasket. (1) Fiber cylinder base gasket. This is every part required to update your tired top end.
If you have ever seen what a dislodged circlip can do to a piston and cylinder, you would never use them again. Your cost includes everything shown in the picture. This big bore kit will fit Kawasaki KZ1000 1981 and later. That includes KZ1000J1/J2/J3 KZ1000K1/K2 KZ1000M1/M2 KZ1000P1 thru P21 and KZ1000R1/R2.
The pistons in the picture are 10.5:1 compression ratio. They are also available in 12.5:1 for racing use and 7.8:1 for turbo. The pistons have 17mm wrist pins. They have valve reliefs sized for 39mm intake valves and 33mm exhaust valves. PIT STOP PERFORMANCE offers a complete machine shop service.
Send us your undamaged cylinder. Each piston will arrive with a number etched inside the bottom skirt identifying it's position in the motor. The rings will be end gapped to match the bore and installed on the pistons. All that is left for you to do is assemble it and go riding.
